Woke up refreshed for the first time in weeks and it is all due to our soft mattress... and therefore the first item on my 3 things I am grateful for list is...
1. A good night's sleep. It is amazing how one takes sleeping for granted sometimes even though it is an essential part of our being and some people are tortured with sleep deprivation. If my sleep is interrupted or the mattress brings on back pain that wakes me up several times a night, I wake up more tired than when I first went to bed. Sometimes it is easier to stay awake than to sleep and wake up with a sore body which leads to a sore mind as well. Last night, I had a good night sleep because I decided to sleep in the guest bedroom. Yes... away from my hubby but I really needed one good night's sleep in a week to make up for all the lost sleep I have had.
2. Time with my daughter and son. I had such a good time with my daughter while my husband and son went for a Thai massage. She went into the ball pool/gym and there was no one else to play with her. I felt so bad that she is playing all on her own so I took a chance and asked the lady if I could join her. We attracted much attention really as I have never seen a parent venture in at that place. We had so much fun throwing balls at each other and playing around. The sound of her laughter made the fact that I looked silly worth while.
Later, I went out with the both of them to give the daddy some time to get some of his school work done. We went to the park and while my son and I played football, my daughter was the ref shouting out orders from the side lines. We had such a good time running around playing outside.
3. The theater. My children and I made and painted a puppet theater out of cardboard a month or so ago and we make it a point to play with our puppets from time to time. Last night, my son and daughter rehearsed a play that they equally shared in making it up. My daughter came up with the idea that her African doll had lost her shoes... then my son said that they were taken by the monkey. The story developed into this... the shoes were taken by a monkey who took them up into the tree... then the girl wanted to change herself into a monkey to attract the other and she needed the doctor's/scientist's assistance. She had to drink a blue liquid, Gatorade, and changed into a monkey, overpowered the other and took her shoes back. Not bad for a start... but the funny thing was that the practice session was much better than the one we video taped.

We had a great full day yesterday. Not a moment went by without us having some adult/child contact that in the end I was surprised to find out it was time for bed. We had an Arabic morning session, then had our breakfast, read some stories, put together some puzzles, watched a bit of TV (well a film as we do not have cable), went to the pool, had a shower, went to lunch, massage/play area, did some grocery shopping, ran around with the ball, played with puppets, watched Monster Inc. while eating our dinner and then off to shower and bed.
I know it sounds full on but it was quite a lot of fun. Family is fun!

Thank you for your lovely comment... I am glad you are enjoyed reading this post... it is a challenge and I have to stick to it but to tell you honestly, I am enjoying it and it has taken my mind off of topics to write about. So much less pressure... LOL
And who is putting that pressure on you?? :-)
No one other than myself... me, myself and I.
