What would I like to do before I go on the other inescapable journey?
This is a question I many a time pondered... I never got myself to write a list of the things that I wanted to do in a Bucket List or anything of the sort but maybe the list would give me some kind of a guide as to where I should be leading my life towards.
This is a question I many a time pondered... I never got myself to write a list of the things that I wanted to do in a Bucket List or anything of the sort but maybe the list would give me some kind of a guide as to where I should be leading my life towards.
Another way of asking the questions is....What do I want out of life? ... Is it the same as what anyone would want out of life? To be happy...spend as much time with my kids as possible to raise healthy, happy and compassionate human beings... to help people and make a small difference in their lives.... to minimize the differences and raise awareness of how similar we are... to be successful in the things I do... to go on adventures and discover the wonders of the Earth...
There is also so much to look forward to... so many beautiful places to visit and adventures to partake in... the world is never lacking... so many good causes to join.... so many lives to touch.
But there is this voice that continues to speculate whether or not tomorrow might be my last day in this dimension, on this Earth... and therefore nags me to think of every moment as a special one... which is kind of hard when life sucks me in, forces me to work hard for a living and then hits me with a ton of hormones which give me erratic mood swings and prevent me from keeping up that today-might-be-my-last-day attitude...
Instead of wallowing in my living room not knowing where to start my list and how to go about deciding what I wanted to do, I decided to turn to the one source of information that is at my finger tips... the Internet.... where else would I go to find out how to write the list or what things to include? What else would someone do while sitting alone in front of a hypnotizing talking box? I did not have someone to pick their brain at the time of writing this post so I thought my safest bet would be to turn to my electronic companion.
OK... so I am sitting there thinking... what am I supposed to be looking up here?.... hmm... I typed in bucket list just for fun thinking that I would most probably only get info about the Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman film...but was pleasantly surprised to discover that there were so many people out there who have written their list and posted them in a blog...
Try it yourself and check it out....
Anyway, I stumbled upon the below website....I found it such a breath of fresh air to see beautiful colorful faces revealing what they wanted to do before they 'died'...and it hit me that what I suspected was right.... so many people out there in the world among the 6 billion inhabitants of this Earth of ours simply want the same thing... It helped confirm my belief in that we have more similarities than differences despite having diverse interests and come from different regions of the planet.... Kind of like a box of chocolates with different fillings...different tastes, shapes and sizes... but they are all chocolate in the end...
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did...

Is there anything that you would like to do before you get on that new stage-wagon?

Lovely post!
The more personal a story is the more universal it becomes!
We are way more similar that what we would like to admit.
We are unique in some aspects of our inner self but when it comes to experiences, aspirations, dreams and hopes for the future we are basically looking for the same.
Ahh, I answered before I knew.
So what is on your list? Surely there is too much to do everything. If the only thing in your bucket is the love of your good work and the love of your family, your bucket is overflowing already. You better find a bigger bucket. There is way too much to love.

I like that idea Ofelia.... UNIQUE and yet so similar...
DancingBrook.... we need a bigger bucket indeed :) There is SO much to love!
Lana, I haven't forgotten to comment. You have written about the bucket list and not coincidentally, I have been sorting out what I would like to accomplish before I die. This is a very important and profound question to ask oneself. So, if you will, allow me, I am going to take a few more days and work it out and hope to articulate it as best I can.
Take all the time you need sunshine... I would be interested to know what is on your list... maybe it will encourage me to write mine!:)
A wonderful post and a great question. I used to think I want safety and security from this world, as much as I can get for as long as I can. Now I want to be happy, help others and be happier.
That link was great. I never knoew so many people wanted to sky dive.
I;ve been thinking of what I would like to do before I leave this life wonder how many things are realistic for me these day. I am way to serious! I'd love to travel, be skinny again and have my hair grow, grow and grow.
But if there was only one thing important enough for me to accomplish it would be to meditate for longer and longer periods of time and overcome my negative patterns and just be more joyful and at ease in life. At least that.
I knew you would like the link... great to see so many beautiful faces... ahhh meditation... as Art that I still need to improve on.
What a great link. Just one thing? Oooh too hard. Before I die I would like to see my son happy, safe, healthy and loved. Also....can I be greedy? Before I die I would like to be peaceful, open and loving in my (everyday)interactions within the world.
oh Jan you made me laugh... greedy? you can never be greedy! You can fill it up with as many wishes as you want... I love when you said that you would like to see your son happy, healthy and safe... you are a wonderful giving caring mom...and he will remember that always!
